Myrtle Beach Skywheel Opens

Things are really looking up for Plyler Park and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk this year!
The new 200 foot Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, located adjacent to Plyler Park, is poised for it’s ribbon cutting ceremonies this morning at 10 a.m., with first ride around 10:30. Prices have been set at $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 3-11, for those 2 and younger the ride is free. Each ride will last approximately 12 minutes, making 3 revolutions.
The SkyWheel will be open daily from 10 a.m. til 1 a.m.
The 12 million dollar SkyWheel is part of the City of Myrtle Beach’s effort to get visitors back to the beachfront after the closing of the famous “Pavilion”. Local business owners have lauded the moves the city is making in a effort to draw more visitors with family oriented activities to the area. Last year’s opening of the new 1.2 mile Myrtle Beach Boardwalk totally revitalized the area, and has been praised in numerous traveler magazines such as TripAdvisor.
Plyler Park is also hosting the free “Hot Summer Nights” which features music, kiddie carnivals and a weekly fireworks show over the ocean.
Plyler Park is located at the end of 10th Avenue North (Mr. Joe White Boulevard) and Ocean Boulevard.
